You have found the genealogy section of Plaidwerx. While this section contains my personal family tree, and was prepared and uploaded primarily for relatives' ease of access, I've decided to make it public due to the fact that my immigrant families have been living in North America for over 400 years. Cousins! I have many, many cousins - many, many times removed.
Most of my early ancestors emigrated from England, Ireland, and Scotland, settling in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey – sometimes briefly – before moving on again to Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
As most genealogy projects tend to be, this is a work in progress. Fast forward almost forty years from the beginnings of my work on my family history, aided by my father's research, and supplemented by the growing number of resources on the internet, and this project has grown by leaps and bounds.
Just as I am positive that most of the information contained herein is correct, I am just as sure that there are mistakes. I try not to add anything without at least one official record, but I've learned that even official records can be wrong, especially when it comes to relying on OCR (optical character recognition) software that most genealogy sites use to decipher old documents.
At present, this is a bare bones version of my tree. Of course, I hope to someday fill in all of the "Unknown"s, but as I continue to work on that goal, I will be also be adding more information I've already accumulated, including wills, marriage and descendant information for siblings of my direct ancestors, and maps of locations of origin. Names of recently deceased ancestors have been omitted to protect living relatives.
