Parish Pages

  • Each parish page includes alternate names and spelling, location, names of towns, villages, hamlets, and estates, a parish timeline, chronological list of clergymen, list of parochial records, OPR and RD numbers, population statistics, common surnames, a list of residents' names appearing in research materials, and an excerpt including a general description of the parish residents from the Statistical Account of Scotland (1791-1799).

  • Alphabetical list of all parishes: Includes OPR parishes, Quoad Omnia (QO) parishes, Quoad Sacra (QS) parishes, Registration Districts (RDs), suppressed parishes, with alternate names/spelling, through 1972, with links to the parish page, or associated parish page.

  • OPR Parishes Alphabetical List: List of the 901 OPR parishes and the shire/county they were assigned to, with links to the parish page, in alphabetical order.

  • OPR Parishes Numerical List: List of the 901 parishes and the shire/county they were assigned to, with links to the parish page, in numerical order by OPR number.

  • OPR Parishes Regions and Districts (1975-1996): Alphabetical list of the 901 parishes with the region and district they were assigned to as a result of the 1973 Local Government (Scotland) Act, with OPR numbers and links to the parish page.
