Orders made by the Boundary Commissioners for Scotland under Section 49 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1889. Orders shall come into operation for the purposes of School Board elections on the 1st day of February 1891, and for all other purposes on the 15th day of May 1891.

Parishes of Cathcart and East Kilbride, counties of Lanark and Renfrew
The parish of Cathcart was situated partly in the county of Lanark and partly in the county of Renfrew. The Lanarkshire part of the parish was in two portions, one being a detached part of the parish, and the other being part of the main portion of the parish. The detached part of the parish remains in Lanarkshire, being transferred to the parish of East Kilbride. The parish of Cathcart, thus diminished in area, received a slight accession in area through the placing wholly in the parish of Cathcart of that part of the road between Symshill and Croftfoot, which was formerly divided between the parishes of Cathcart and Carmunnock. The parish as thus altered in area has been placed wholly in the county of Renfrew.

The city of Glasgow, as defined by the City of Glasgow Act, 1891, is partly in Lanarkshire and partly in Renfrewshire. Clause III. proposes to put the whole of the extended city in the county of Lanark. The subjects so to be transferred are far too numerous to detail. They are situated partly in the:
Parish of Govan - Polmadei, Strathbungo, Pollokshields, Pollokshields East
Parish of Cathcart - Crosshill, Crossmyloof, Langside, Mount Florida
Parish of Eastwood - Shawlands
The effect of the change just described would be to place the parish of Govan wholly in Lanarkshire, with the exception of the police burgh of Kinning Park, which would remain in Renfrewshire.
Parish of Kirkpatrick-Juxta, counties of Lanark and Dumfries
The parish of Kirkpatrick-Juxta, which is shown on the Ordnance Survey maps as wholly in the county of Dumfries, was really situated partly in that county and partly in the county of Lanark. The parish was placed wholly in the county of Dumfries.
