Summary: Extensive internal alterations. Parishes straddling the boundary with Banff: Gartly, Glass, New Machar, Old Deer, and St Fergus were transferred to Aberdeenshire; Cabrach, Gamrie, Inverkeithney, Alvah, and Rothiemay to Banff. Parishes straddling the boundary with Kincardineshire: Drumoak to Aberdeenshire; Banchory Ternan to Kincardineshire.

Orders made by the Boundary Commissioners for Scotland under Section 49 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1889. Orders shall come into operation for the purposes of School Board elections on the 1st day of February 1891, and for all other purposes on the 15th day of May 1891.

Parishes of Cluny and Midmar, County of Aberdeen
The parish of Cluny had a detached part separated from the remainder of the parish by an intervening portion of the parish of Midmar. An exchange of territory was effected between these parishes, with the result of connecting the detached part of Cluny with the main portion of the parish, and of transferring to Midmar an intrusive peninsula of the parish of Cluny. In order to equalise the exchange, Cluny received an additional portion of Midmar, taken from the north-east corner of the latter parish.

There was a detached part of the county of Aberdeen which was also a detached part of the Aberdeenshire parish of King Edward, and which was surrounded by the county of Banff. It was situated near the town of Banff, and was surrounded by the Banffshire parishes of Alvah, Banff, and Gamrie. This detached part was transferred to the county of Banff, and was at the same time annexed to the parish of Alvah.

Parishes of Logie Coldstone, Strathdon, Tarland & Migvie, and Towie, County of Aberdeen
These four parishes form a group, and can best be dealt with together. The parish of Strathdon had a detached part in Glenkindie, bounded on the east by the parish of Towie and on the west by the parish of Glenbucket. This detached part was so situated as to separate a part of the parish of Towie at Glenbuie from the rest of that parish. In the case of these two detached parts these defects have been cured by transferring the detached part of Strathdon to Towie, thus uniting the detached part of Towie with the main portion of that parish. The parish of Tarland & Migvie had three detached parts. Tarland & Migvie detached No. 1 was situated at Deskry, and had the parish of Strathdon on the west and the parish of Towie on the east. Tarland & Migvie detached No. 2, situated at Migvie, was bounded on the north by the parish of Towie and elsewhere by the parish of Logie-Coldstone. Tarland & Migvie detached No. 3 was almost entirely surrounded by the parish of Strathdon. Detached No. 3 was transferred to Strathdon; Tarland & Migvie detached No. 1 was divided between Strathdon and Towie, Strathdon receiving the part situated on the left bank of the Deskry, and Towie receiving the remainder; and Tarland & Migvie detached No. 2 was transferred to the parish of Logie-Coldstone. The north-east corner of Logie-Coldstone was transferred to Tarland & Migvie.
